Most fans who like your work will never tip. Not because they don't want to, but because "send a tip" has no deadline and no reason to do it today. A tip goal gives them both.
What a tip goal is
A goal sits on your page, above your tip button, wherever fans can tip you: your sca.al page, your Sociaal page and the tip page itself. There are two kinds:
- An amount goal: "New mic: R2,500". A bar fills as tips come in: "R1,850 of R2,500".
- A time window: "Trip to Durban: 2 days". No target, just a short window: "R640 raised so far ยท 1 day left".
Only tips that arrive after you start the goal count, so every goal starts fresh. When an amount goal is reached, your page shows "Goal reached ๐ thank you!" for a day. When a time window ends, it shows how much you raised. Fans can keep tipping the whole time.
Three goals that work
- Something you need. "New mic: R2,500", "Ring light: R800", "Studio time: R1,500". Fans love seeing exactly what their tip buys. Show it off when it arrives.
- A short tip jar. "2 days: help me get to the Durban shoot." A deadline is the reason to tip now, not later.
- A thank-you. "1,000 followers this week: tip jar open for 3 days." Celebrate a milestone and let fans join in.
How to start one
- On your dashboard, go to Link Page and open Features.
- Under Tips, write what you're raising for, choose Amount or Time, and tap Start goal.
- Changed your mind? Tap Clear goal and it disappears from your page straight away.
Then talk about it
A goal nobody hears about doesn't fill. Mention it where your fans already are:
- End a video with it: "R650 to go on the new mic. The link's in my bio."
- Post a story with your sca.al link sticker when you're halfway.
- Post on Sociaal: your followers get an email every time you post, which is a perfect moment to mention the goal.
- Say thank you when it's reached, and show what you bought. That's what makes fans tip next time.
